Registration and Schedule

The main tournament at Grand Prix–Seattle/Tacoma is open up to Magic players of all ages.

Tournament Format

  • Standard Constructed
  • Deck lists are required
  • Players must employ the same deck on Day 2 that they used on Day ane.

Tournament Structure

  • Modified Swiss-manner (fifty-minute rounds).

Notes

  • In the event that a player who wins an invitation to a Pro Bout end at a Grand Prix has already qualified for an invitation, the invitation does not pass downwardly under any circumstances. Previous qualification may be through a Qualifier tournament, through performance at a professional tournament, or by existence an invited DCI player (valid upon the appointment of the official rank declaration for the appropriate professional tournament).

Byes will be given to players in the Grand Prix based on the following criteria (Byes are not cumulative throughout the season or year):

Third-Circular Byes

  • Players with a Players Social club level of 4 or higher
  • Players with a DCI Total rating of 2050 or higher. Byes are based on DCI Total ratings published on May 27, 2009.
  • Players with a DCI Constructed rating of 2000 or higher. Byes are based on DCI Constructed ratings published on May 27, 2009.
  • Winners of K Prix–Seattle/Tacoma Trial tournaments.

Second-Circular Byes

  • Players with a Players Lodge level of 2 or 3
  • Players with a DCI Total rating of 1950 or higher. Byes are based on DCI Total ratings published on May 27, 2009.
  • Players with a DCI Synthetic rating of 1900 or higher. Byes are based on DCI Constructed ratings published on May 27, 2009.

First-Round Byes

  • Players with a Players Lodge level of 1
  • Players with a DCI Total rating of 1850 or higher. Byes are based on DCI Full ratings published on May 27, 2009.
  • Players with a DCI Synthetic rating of 1800 or higher. Byes are based on DCI Constructed ratings published on May 27, 2009.

Travel by Car
The event site is located 19 miles due south of Seattle/Tacoma airport.
From I-five Southbound/Northbound:
At go out 133 (City Center Go out) turn RIGHT onto the ramp towards I-705/ City Center.
Keep LEFT to stay on ramp towards I-705/ Metropolis Center.
Turn LEFT onto ramp towards A Street/ Metropolis Center.
Keep LEFT to stay on ramp towards S. 15th Street/ Pacific Artery.
Follow Southward. 15th Street two blocks, the Chiliad Prix will be on your left at 1500 Broadway.

Parking on site for a rate of $10 a twenty-four hour period.
Free parking is available at the Tacoma Dome light runway station. Only take the light rail (also free) to the venue.

Travel by Plane
The Seattle/Tacoma (SEATAC) airport is merely 19 miles from Grand Prix–Seattle/Tacoma. Cabs and rental cars are available at the airport. Public transportation is offered by Sound Transit. Take motorcoach 574 southbound from SEATAC airport to the Tacoma Dome stop (on Puyallup Artery). From there, walk or accept lift up to the Tacoma Dome Station calorie-free rail terminate at the far side of the Tacoma Dome parking structure (25th Street). Travel by Railroad train
